Winter Garden House

The task from the client was to join four different functions and yet to have one unified building volume. We propose to divide the building into two volumes - insulated and uninsulated according to the function. We added a winter garden in between as a connector providing a flexible outdoor area that can be transformed according to weather conditions and the position of the sun. To blend the building into the traditional building environment, we unified the volumes with the gable roof. The project aimed to maximize the possibilities to use the outdoor area, enjoy the sun exposure throughout the year and open the views to the landscape thus connecting the residents with nature and providing flexible living conditions.
